SINGAPORE 3
The Light Railway
We go to metro station named Sengkang . We want to vosit the light railway. On the map You can see it as some grey loops. Our guide book says it has no interest for tourists.

I imagine I will see a super tram in his own area and some smart halts on the street.

We are not to go down on the street, instead we need to go one level up. The light railway is a part of the transport system, and when we not are leaving the station we can have a free running on the loop. The trains are only a single car for 50 passengers. More cars can be set together. The wheels have rubber tyres running on a way of concrete.

We have a conversation with two officials. They invite us to have a run on the loop, free, because we are inside.

We do it. The looping takes a quarter of an hour. There is no driver. Anyhow, the train stops precisely at the halt. We have been explained, that the informations for the train are delivered in the white plastic beam. The train has aircondition. I have never seen anything like this.

You can see the circuit rail to the right. Also You can see guide rails for the car in both sides. When the picture seems greenish, its because the window has a sun filter (We are only one degree from the equator).

Our last train in Singapore is in the airport Changi. The airport is so big, that they need to have a little train running between the terminals. It`s the same light railway type as we have seen in Sengkang.

If You want to come with us to The River Kwai, then click
A recommendation: Much more to see in Singapore, and of course we did so. Sure, You are going to see The Thian Hock Keng Temple. Then I will recommend You to go for dinner at Camil Goh, 134 Telok Ayer Street. The Restaurant looks like nothing, but the dinner is excellent and so cheap that You will think it is a lie.
