SINGAPORE 2
The Real Railway
We only have a lokal sketch map. The railway must be situated behind a great road.

On the officiel tourist map there is no railway at all. It should be where the sign is. So, instead, we take the ariel ropeway to the Sentosa Island to get a general view. Could be, that we can catch an eye on the railway from the air.

It looks very dangerous.

We can see a road but no more. The weather is hazely. We spent a couple of hours on Sentosa to see the animals.

Just a picture of the gondola.

We came back and walked around half an hour without finding the railway. A friendly man helped us to walk in the wrong direction. A young buisinessman offered us a ride in his car. 40$! Thank You. Just a joke. And suddenly, there was the station .

Inside looks like a catedral.

At the platform is the 13:00 ready to go. Fine, new, modern coaches. In the good old days the train ran all the way to Bangkok, now You need to change several times. The danish foreign ministry advises us not to go into the southern provinces of Thailand, so I just take some photos. At first I asked an official for permission, because I see, that the railway is in charge of The Malaysian Railways and the two countries are not best friends. Could be the reason why You canīt find the railway on the map.

The 13:00 was a litte late, waiting for a southbound train, here shunting.

A pointsman and a buffer stop is an idea for Your garden railway. Gauge 1 meter.
Now, good-bye from here. Next comes The Light Rail Train at a station called Sengkang. On the map there are some courious loops. Want to have a look, then click here.
